11月27日上午，在2021亚洲青年领袖论坛开幕式上，全国政协副主席、全国工商联主席、中国和平发展基金会理事长高云龙发表重要讲话。

各位青年朋友们、各位使节、女士们、先生们、朋友们：

大家上午好！

非常高兴来到美丽的广州、美丽的南沙、美丽的海边，来共同出席亚洲青年领袖论坛。首先我对我们亚洲青年领袖论坛的召开表示热烈的祝贺，对线上线下的各位嘉宾表示诚挚的问候和衷心的感谢！

亚洲各国山水相连，人文相亲，有着相似的历史境遇，相同的梦想追求。近年来，亚洲各国加强团结合作，携手应对各种挑战和困难，尤其是在新冠疫情下守望相助，共克时艰。2020年亚洲经济总量约占全球的39%，对世界经济增长的贡献率已经超过了50%，亚洲各国青年在这个过程中发挥了独特的重要作用。青年向上，时代向前，亚洲青年有理想有担当，为国家前途民族命运努力拼搏、不懈奋斗，成为推动国家和民族发展最积极最有生气的动力。亚洲青年坚持正义，维护和平，不断推动亚洲各国友好交流，互利合作，成为世界舞台上维护和平发展举足轻重的力量。特别是一批批的亚洲青年领袖引领时代潮流，为世界、为亚洲、为各国的发展做出了积极的贡献。

女士们、先生们、朋友们，当今世界百年未有之大变局和世界疫情叠加，世界经济复苏艰难曲折。值此历史关头，亚洲青年领袖更应勇担时代责任，引领广大亚洲青年坚定前进信心，立大志、明大德、成大才、担大任，用青春和汗水创造出让世界刮目相看的亚洲新契机。

本届论坛以“致力开放创新，聚合青年力量，共建亚洲新未来”为主题，是亚洲各国青年深入交流，凝聚共识，增进互信，深化友谊的一场盛会。借此机会，我就发挥亚洲各国青年力量，推动构建亚洲命运共同体与各位青年朋友们交流五点看法。

第一、坚持合作开放，做亚洲共同繁荣的推动者。开放是人类社会进一步繁荣进一步的必由之路。多年来，亚洲经济能够保持快速发展，得益于坚持开放包容、合作共赢的发展理念。当前中国正在加快构建新发展格局，区域全面经济伙伴关系协定即将生效实施，这些都将有力地支持自由贸易和多边贸易体制，为世界经济复苏注入新动力，为“一带一路”沿线产业链融合发展提供新机遇。亚洲青年要敞开胸怀，秉持开放融通、互利共赢的合作理念，把握共建“一带一路”的机遇，积极参与和支持亚洲各国扩大开放、经济融合、发展联动、成果共享，让合作的阳光驱散疫情的阴霾。

第二、深化交流互鉴，做世界文明交流的连接者。交流互鉴是文明发展的本质要求，促进民心相知相通的重要途径。唯有不断交流互鉴、取长补短，文明才能保持旺盛的生命活力。人是文明交流互鉴互好最好的载体，亚洲青年要当好文明使者，把合作理念付诸彼此相处之道，坚持各为其美、美人之美、美美与共、天下大同，以平等尊重的态度、兼收并蓄的方式推进东西方文明交流互鉴，夯实共建人类命运共同体的人文基础。青年人要发挥特有的朝气和活力，在用好已有人文交流合作平台的基础上，突破疫情阻阂，创新交流模式，架设新的沟通桥梁，综合运用各种方式传播好亚洲声音，让文明交流互鉴成为维护世界和平的纽带，在书写新的文明对话传奇中成就梦想。

第三、致力开拓创新，做推动亚洲发展的领军者。当前新一轮科技革命和产业变革深度发展，信息技术、生物技术、制造技术方兴未艾，为促进经济增长和应对重大疾病、气候变化、自然灾害等挑战，提供了坚强的技术支撑。青年人是最富活力、最有创意、最具创造力的群体，要把创新作为价值追求，勇立创新发展潮头，勇于闯进无人区域争取引领创新风口，以技术创新牵引带动组织创新、商业模式创新和品牌创新，培育竞争新优势，催生发展新动能。

第四、践行绿色发展，做清洁美丽亚洲的先行者，共建地球生命共同体。关乎人类文明永续发展，亚洲青年要坚持人与自然和谐共生的理念，共同助力呵护我们的地球家园，积极传播生态文明理念，努力践行绿色低碳生产生活方式，引领和推动全社会形成呵护自然人人有责的局面。要坚持绿色转型，把绿色理念植入现代商业文明，把握碳达峰、碳中和带来的机遇，乘势而为，依靠科技创新和模式创新创造更多绿色价值，赢得未来。要坚持绿色合作，把绿色作为亚洲疫后复苏的底色，积极参与绿色基建、绿色能源、绿色金融等领域的合作，推动亚洲实现更加强劲绿色健康的发展。

第五、增强责任意识，做增进亚洲人民福祉的践行者。中国古语有云“达则兼济天下”， 广大亚洲青年，特别是青年领袖们要把“心系天下”作为自己的价值追求。我们来到广东，来到的是孙中山先生的故乡，当时孙中山、廖仲恺一大批的广东人，当然也包括康有为，他们为中国从封建社会迈入现代社会做出了卓越的贡献，他们就是有这种“心系天下”、“天下为公”的远大的理想和宽阔的胸怀，所以希望我们亚洲的青年、亚洲的青年领袖们，要努力在创造就业机会，减少贫富差距，消弭社会矛盾，推动和平发展上有更大作为。要树立向上向善的人生观、价值观、财富观，积极投身本国和亚洲各国的疫情防控、卫生、减贫等惠民、利民、安民、富民的事业，为推动本国和地区的经济社会发展和增进各国人民的福祉贡献智慧力量。同时，要发挥标杆和榜样作用，让履行社会责任，助力同胞幸福，提升亚洲文明，致力亚洲繁荣成为我们永远的追求。

各位青年朋友们，士不可以不弘毅，任重而道远，一代人有一代人的使命，一代人有一代人的担当，亚洲青年恰逢盛世责任重大，希望大家乘风破浪，勇往直前，在时代的大潮中开辟属于你们的新天地。

Dear young friends, ambassadors, ladies, gentlemen, and friends, 

Good morning.

It is a great pleasure to come to the beautiful seaside district of Nansha, Guangzhou, to attend the Asia Youth Leaders Forum. First of all, I would like to extend my warm congratulations on the opening of the Asia Youth Leaders Forum. I would like to extend my sincere greetings and heartfelt thanks to all the guests online and here in person.  

Asian countries are connected by mountains and rivers, and people are close to each other. We have similar historical experience and the same dreams to pursue. In recent years, Asian countries have strengthened solidarity and cooperation to tackle various challenges and difficulties together. Especially when facing the covid-19 pandemic, we have stood by each other and overcome difficulties together, and Asia has become an essential engine for sustainable global recovery. In 2020, Asia accounted for about 39% of the global economy, contributing more than 50% of the world’s economic growth. Young people in Asia played a unique and important role in this process. As youth move up, the times move on. Asian youth have ideals and responsibilities, and they work hard for their countries’ future and their nations’ destiny. This is the most active and vibrant driving force to promote the development of the country and nation. Asian youth uphold justice and safeguard peace. We should constantly promote friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between Asian countries and become a pivotal force on the world stage to maintain peaceful development. In particular, successions of young Asian leaders are leading the trend of the times and making positive contributions to the world, to Asia, and to the development of their countries.  

Ladies and gentlemen,
dear friends,

In today's world, the unprecedented changes combined with the global pandemic make the world's economic recovery difficult and tortuous. At this critical moment in history, young Asian leaders should bravely shoulder the responsibilities of the times and lead the vast number of Asian youths to strengthen their confidence to move forward, set a great ambition, understand great virtue, become a great talent, and take on great responsibilities, creating a new opportunity for Asia that will impress the world. 

This forum is themed “Open and Innovate - Cultivating Asia’s Future through the Strength of Our Youth.” It is an excellent event for the youths from Asian countries to deepen exchanges, build consensus, enhance mutual trust, and deepen friendship. I would like to take this opportunity to share with young friends five points on promoting the development of an Asian community with a shared future by making use of the youth power in Asian countries.

First, adhere to open cooperation and be a promoter of shared prosperity in Asia. Openness is the only way for the further prosperity of human society. Over the years, the reason that the Asian economy has been able to maintain rapid development lies in the development concept of openness, inclusiveness, cooperation, and mutual benefit. At present, China is accelerating the transition to a new development pattern. Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEPA) will soon come into effect and be implemented. These will strongly support free trade and the multilateral trading system, give new impetus into the recovery of the world economy, and provide new opportunities for the integrated development of industrial chains along the "Belt and Road". Asian youths must be open-minded and uphold the concept of openness, integration, mutual benefit, and win-win cooperation; grasp the opportunity of joint implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative; actively participate in and support Asian countries to expand openness, economic integration, development linkage, and sharing of achievements; and let the sunshine of cooperation dispel the haze of the epidemic.

Second, deepen exchanges and mutual learning and be a linker of world civilization exchanges. Exchange and mutual appreciation are essential requirements for the development of civilization and a meaningful way to promote mutual understanding. Only by continuous exchanges, mutual learning and complementing each other’s strengths and weaknesses can a civilization maintain its vitality. People are the best medium for civilization exchanges and mutual appreciation. Asian youth should be good ambassadors of civilization and put the concept of cooperation into the way of getting along with each other. Achieving one's own goal yields gratification. Lending a hand to consummate others' goal doubles satisfaction. Goals of self and others can be unified; thus, the world can be harmonized. With an attitude of equal respect and an approach of embracing diversity, we need to promote exchanges and mutual learning between Eastern and Western civilizations and consolidate the humanistic foundation for the community with a shared future. Young people must bring their unique energy and vitality into play. Based on existing exchange and cooperation platforms, we should break through the barrier of epidemic and innovate exchange models, build new bridges of communication, and use comprehensive ways to spread the voice of Asia. Let the exchange and mutual learning of civilizations become the link to maintain world peace, and you can achieve your dreams in writing a new saga of civilization dialogue. 

Third, pioneer and innovate governance and be a leader in promoting the development of Asia. Currently, the latest round of technological revolution and industrial change deepens its development, and technologies of information, biology, and manufacturing are emerging, which provides strong technical support to promote economic growth and deal with challenges such as major diseases, climate change, and natural disasters. Youth are the most energetic, creative, and innovative group. We must take innovation as the pursuit of value; bravely innovate and develop at the forefront; courageously break into no man's land; strive to lead innovation; and try to promote the innovation of organizations, business models, and brands through technological innovation. We need to develop new competitive advantages and generate new development momentum.

Fourth, practice green development and be a pioneer of clean and beautiful Asia. Building a community of life on earth is essential to the sustainable development of human civilization. Asian youth must adhere to the concept of harmonious coexistence between man and nature, help to take care of our Earth together, actively spread the idea of ecological preservation, and strive to practice a green and low-carbon way of production and life. Lead and promote the formation of a society where everyone is responsible for caring for nature. We must adhere to the green transformation and integrate green concepts into modern commercial practices, seize the opportunities brought by carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, and take advantage of this momentum. We need to rely on technological innovation and model innovation to create more green value and win the future. We must adhere to green cooperation and make green development the foundation of Asia’s post-epidemic recovery. We also need to actively collaborate in green infrastructure, green energy, and green finance, promoting a more robust, greener, and healthier development in Asia.

Fifth, strengthen the sense of responsibility and be a practitioner to enhance the well-being of Asian people. As the old Chinese saying goes, "When you are able, do benefit the world." Asian youth, in particular, young leaders, must regard the world as our value pursuit. We are here in Guangdong, the hometown of Mr. Sun Yat-sen. At that time, Sun Yat-sen, Liao Zhongkai, and a large number of Cantonese people, of course, including Kang Youwei and others, have made outstanding contributions to China's transition from a feudal society to modern society. They had this kind of lofty ideal and broad mind for the world and for the common good. So, I hope that our young Asian leaders will work hard to create job opportunities, reduce the gap between rich and poor, eliminate social conflicts, and make more remarkable achievements in promoting peaceful development. We must establish an upward outlook on life, values, and wealth; actively participate in the cause of benefiting, comforting, and favoring people, such as poverty reduction and epidemic response in your country and other Asian countries; contribute wisdom to promoting the economic and social development of your country and region; and enhance the well-being of the people of all countries. At the same time, we must act as role models and make the fulfilling of our social responsibilities in the promotion of the happiness of our compatriots, enhancing Asian civilization, and striving for Asian prosperity our eternal pursuit.

Dear young friends,

“An educated gentleman cannot but be resolute and broad-minded, for he has taken up a heavy responsibility and a long course.” Each generation has its mission, and each generation has its responsibility. Asian youths have a great obligation in a great time. I hope everyone will ride the waves and go forward and open up a new world of your own in the tide of the times.
