各位来宾：
大家上午好！羊城的三月春意盎然，我们非常高兴地来到美丽的广州南沙，共同举办亚洲青年领袖论坛。在此首先请允许我向大会的召开表示热烈的祝贺，对各位嘉宾的到来表示热烈的欢迎！
当下，世界之变，时代之变，历史之变，正以前所未有的方式展开。亚洲绝大多数国家的总体趋势是社会稳定，经济上升，民生改善。去年，菲律宾、马来西亚、沙特、印度、印尼、越南等国家的经济增长名列世界前茅，中国的经济增长稳居超大经济体的前列，我们共同为世界发展作出了亚洲贡献。在亚洲，和平思维不断升温，地区合作逐渐扩大，发展鸿沟持续缩小，经济复苏态势明显，与世界上硝烟弥漫的地区形成了鲜明的对比。本届论坛以“增强青年合作，凝聚共同价值，促进亚洲和平与发展”为主题，对于我们共建稳定繁荣的亚洲国家，共谱人类美好前景具有重要意义。
和平有利发展，合作促进共赢。亚洲走向更加富裕，走向更加文明，最强大的力量是同心合力，最有效的方法是和衷共济。亚洲各国山水相连，人文相亲，历史际遇相似，梦想追求相同。过去几十年亚洲人民秉持“求和平，谋发展，促合作，图共赢”的共识，推动经济持续快速增长，携手创造了举世瞩目的亚洲奇迹。亚洲青年交流互鉴结伴成长，作为亚洲发展合作的推动者和践行者，为地区和平发展贡献了青春力量。
女士们、先生们，朋友们，青年是国家的未来，也是世界的希望。中国历来高度重视青年发展，致力于为青年提供施展才华的舞台，搭建交流合作的平台，畅通互学互助的渠道，也真诚地欢迎各国青年来华交流与发展，与中国青年深化沟通，增进了解，收获友谊，共同成长，为建设一个持久和平，普遍安全，共同繁荣，开放包容，清洁美丽的世界贡献智慧和力量。
借此机会，我想对参会的广大青年朋友们提三点倡议：
一、希望各国的青年才俊携手前进，共同奏响人类文明百花齐放的交响曲。亚洲地大物博、山河秀美，是人类最早的定居地之一，也是人类文明的重要发祥地。几千年来从宗教到哲学，从道德到法律，从文学到对话，从戏剧到音乐，从地图、造纸术、印刷术等发明创造到长城、泰姬陵、吴哥窟等宏伟的建筑，亚洲创造了丰富多彩、绚丽灿烂的文明，描绘了人类文明进步的宏伟画卷。青年作为社会上最具活力、最具创造力的群体始终走在人类文明进步的前列，推进文化交流，引领风气之先。在漫漫的历史长河中，亚洲青年英才辈出，为推动亚洲文明的多样化发展、人类社会的全面进步作出了重大贡献。早在公元七世纪，25岁的中国青年才俊玄奘西行印度，将600多部经文带入中国，并在东亚和东南亚国家的传播。公元十一世纪，中亚21岁的伊本·西纳遍阅古希腊、古罗马和伊斯兰经典，编著成经医典巨著，将亚洲文明的精髓普及到全世界。亚洲文明永续发展，既需要薪火相传，代代守护，更需要顺时势应势，推陈出新，创造出更加辉煌的时代文明。3月15日，总书记在中国共产党与世界政党高层对话开幕式上发表主旨演讲，提出了全球文明倡议，发出了尊重世界文明多样性，弘扬全人类共同价值，重视文明传承与创新，加强国际人文交流合作的重要声音加强国际人文交流合作的中国声音。希望各位青年才俊积极响应倡议，继往开来，接续奋斗，当好亚洲文明的传承者、弘扬者、发展者、创造者，加强交流互鉴，在将传统文明发扬光大的基础上，不断地吸纳时代的精华，用创新增添文明的发展动力，激发文明进一步的源泉，不断创造出更多跨越时空、富有永恒魅力的文明成果。
二、希望各国青年才俊坚守正道，共同奏好和平与发展的主题曲。维护和平是每个国家、每个青年都不可推卸的历史责任。去年10月，中国共产党第二十次全国代表大会胜利召开，向世界郑重庄严地宣示中国始终坚持维护世界和平，促进共同发展的外交政策宗旨，致力于推动构建人类命运共同体。习近平主席在大会报告中强调，构建人类命运共同体是世界各国人民前途所在。万物并生育而不相害，道并行而不相悖，只有各国行天下之大道，和睦相处，合作共赢，繁荣才能持久。面对当前动荡不安的国际形势，亚洲发展更加需要团结合作，遇山同开梯，遇沟同搭桥。亚洲青年应负起时代责任，既要有家国情怀，也要有全球气度，人类关怀。禀承四海一家，与民邻为善，和合共生的理念，以青年大团结推动世界的大团结，以青年的大合作带动人类的大合作，共同维护比金子还珍贵的和平时光，推动亚洲命运共同体建设迈出坚实的步伐。
三、希望各国青年才俊把握机遇，共同奏响创新引领未来的进行曲。当今世界正经历百年未有之大变局，科技创新是关键之中一个关键的变量，是全球战胜重重挑战最好的药方。青年处于创新的活跃期，继续最具创造力，是科技创新的未来。当前，亚洲正成为全球最具创新活力的区域之一，大家要抓住机遇，以开放合作应对共同挑战，以科技创新推动可持续发展。通过项目合作，人才培训，技术认证等形式，广泛开展国际交流合作，提升创新要素整合能力，共同维护全球产业链、供应链、创新链的稳定，释放科技创新引擎动能，推动亚洲经济持续增长。
中国的现代化进程正在探索人类实现现代化的新模式，也给全球发展带来了新的机遇。亚洲青年应当加强各领域的交流合作，在心与心对话沟通过程中增进理解，在手拉手并肩前行中增进信任，支持彼此探寻符合本国国情的现代化道路，深度参与全球治理，分享发展经验，深化经贸联系，推进联动发展，让青春在为祖国、为人民、为世界、为人类的不懈奋斗中绽放绚丽之花，推动世界向着更加稳定、均衡和繁荣的方向不断发展。
女士们、先生们，朋友们！亚洲青年领袖论坛是增强青年国际交流，促进青年成长进步，助力世界和平与发展的重要平台。与会嘉宾都是来自亚洲各国的青年领袖、人才翘楚，希望大家深入交流，凝聚共识，为亚洲的团结合作发出青年之声，为亚洲的发展进步注入青春之力，持续推动世界向着更加公平、正义、富裕、文明的方向不断进步。最后，预祝本次论坛圆满成功。谢谢大家！
Gao Yunlong urges Asian youth to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in all sectors
On 25 March, Gao Yunlong, vice chairperson of CPPCC National Committee, chairperson of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and chairperson of China Foundation for Peace and Development, delivered his remarks at the Opening Ceremony of the Asia Youth Leaders Forum. Following is the full text of the remarks.
Distinguished guests,
Good morning.The city of Guangzhou is delightful in the spring month of March, and we are gathered here delightedly in the beautiful district of Nansha, for the Asia Youth Leaders Forum. Please allow me to extend my sincere congratulations on the opening of the forum and my warm welcome to all the delegates.
Right now, changes of the world, of our times, and of history are unfolding in ways like never before. The overall trend in most Asian countries is towards social stability, economic growth, and improvement in people’s livelihood. Last year the economic growth of the Philippines, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, India, Indonesia, and Vietnam ranked among the best in the world, and China's economic growth ranked again at the forefront among the largest economies. Together, we have made our Asian contribution to world development.
Peace benefits development, and cooperation promotes win-win results. For Asia to move towards greater prosperity and civility, the most powerful force is solidarity, and the most effective way is fraternity. Asian countries are connected through mountains and rivers as well as people-to-people ties. We share similar historical encounters and identical pursuits.
For the past few decades, the people of Asia have been adhering to the common ideas of peace, development, cooperation, and win-win results; promoting sustained rapid economic growth; and, together, creating the Asian miracle that awes the world. Meanwhile, Asian youth have been exchanging ideas and improving themselves in companionship, and, as promoters and practitioners of Asian development and cooperation, have contributed their youthful strength to regional peace and development.

Young people are the future of the nation and the hope of the world. China always attaches great importance to youth development and is committed to providing stages for young people to display their talents, building platforms for exchanges and cooperation, and facilitating channels for mutual learning and support. China also sincerely welcomes young people from all over the world to exchange ideas and develop in China, enhancing communication, understanding, friendship, and self-development together with Chinese youth, and thus contribute insight and efforts to building a world of lasting peace, universal security, common prosperity, openness, inclusiveness, cleanliness, and beauty.
With this opportunity, I’d like to offer our young friends here at the forum three recommendations:
First, I hope that young talents across the world will join hands and champion diversity in the human civilization. Asia, with its vastness and beautiful landscapes, is one of the earliest human settlements and an important cradle of the human civilization. For thousands of years, from religion to philosophy, from morality to law, from literature to dialogue, from drama to music, from inventions such as maps, papermaking, and printing to magnificent buildings such as the Great Wall, Taj Mahal, and Angkor Wat, Asia has given rise to colorful and splendid civilizations and painted a magnificent picture of this civilization’s progress.
As the most dynamic and creative group in society, young people have always been at the forefront of the progress of the human civilization, promoting cultural exchanges and leading the way for further development. In the long history of Asia, young talents in Asia have emerged one after another and made significant contributions to the diversification of the Asian civilization and the all-round progress of human society.
As early as the seventh century, Xuanzang, a 25-year-old Chinese talent traveled west to India and brought back to China more than 600 scriptures, promoting the spread of Buddhism in East and Southeast Asian countries. In the eleventh century, 21-year-old Ibn Sina from Central Asia, having read ancient Greek, ancient Roman, and Islamic classics extensively, compiled amedical masterpiece, which promulgated the essence of the Asian civilization to the world.
The sustainable development of the Asian civilization requires not only passing on the torch and protecting it generations after generations, but also responding to the trends and refreshing itself, thus creating a more brilliant civilization of the times. On March 15, President Xi Jinping, during his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-level Meeting, put forward the Global Civilization Initiative. It is a Chinese call for respecting the diversity of civilizations, advocating the common values of humanity, valuing the inheritance and innovation of civilizations, and strengthening international people-to-people exchanges and cooperation.
I hope that you will take this initiative in mind and carry on with your enterprise to succeed in the inheritance, promotion, development, and creation of the Asian civilization. You should strengthen exchanges and mutual learning and carry forward the traditional civilization with continuous inclusion of merits of the times. You should tap into innovation to add impetus to the civilization’s development, stimulate further progress in the civilization, and create more cultures that transcend time and space and exude ceaseless charms.
Second, I hope that young talents across the world will stick to the right course and uphold peace and development. Maintaining peace is a historic responsibility that no country or no youth can shirk. In October last year, the 20th CPC National Congress was successfully held, solemnly declaring to the world that China upholds the foreign policy principles of safeguarding world peace and promoting common development and is committed to promoting the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
President Xi Jinping stressed in his report that building a human community with a shared future is the way forward for all the world’s peoples. “All living things may grow side by side without harming one another, and different roads may run in parallel without interfering with one another.” Only when all countries pursue the cause of common good, live in harmony, and engage in cooperation for mutual benefit will there be sustained prosperity and guaranteed security.
In the face of the turbulent developments in the world, Asia’s development calls for unity and cooperation more than ever: building ladders to surmount mountains and bridges to cross trenches together, figuratively. Young people in Asia should shoulder the responsibilities to keep not only their country in mind but also the whole world and humanity. You should uphold the principle of fraternity, amity, and harmony, promote global unity with your unity, and drive forward humanity’s cooperation with your cooperation, safeguarding the peacetime that values more precious than gold and contributing concrete efforts to the building of an Asian community with a shared future.
Third, I hope that young talents across the world grasp opportunities and endorse innovation as a leading force for the future. The world is experiencing major changes unseen in a century, and scientific and technological innovation is one of the key variables and the best solution to these varied global challenges.
Youth are in an active period of innovation and utmost creativity: you are the future of scientific and technological innovation. Presently, Asia is emerging as one of the most dynamic regions in the world in innovation. You should seize the opportunity to address common challenges with open cooperation and promote sustainable development through scientific and technological innovation. By means of project cooperation, talent training, and technology certification, for instance, you should engage in extensive international exchanges and cooperation, enhance the ability to integrate innovation factors, and jointly maintain stability in global industry chains, supply chains, and innovation chains, so as to unleash the momentum in scientific and technological innovation and promote the sustainable growth of the Asian economy.
The Chinese modernization process is an exploration of new models of human modernization, and it also brings new opportunities for global development. Young people in Asia should strengthen exchanges and cooperation in all fields, enhance understanding in heart-to-heart communication, and increase trust in hand-in-hand endeavors. You should support each other in exploring the path of modernization compatible with national conditions, participate in depth in global governance, share development experience, deepen economic and trade ties, and promote synergetic development, dedicating your youth to the unremitting cause for the country, the people, the world, and humanity and promoting the world’s continuous development in a more stable, balanced, and prosperous direction.
