3月25日，在亚洲青年领袖论坛开幕式上，日本前首相鸠山由纪夫通过视频发表重要讲话。

大家好：
我是鸠山由纪夫，非常感谢邀请我参加本届亚洲青年领袖论坛。衷心祝贺本次亚洲青年领袖论坛顺利召开并感谢主办单位中国公共外交协会的努力，能够创建一个平台让亚洲各国的青年领袖们交流想法和意见。我认为这不仅有利于亚洲，对世界的和平和发展也是非常有利的。
这次论坛的主题是“增强青年合作、凝聚共同价值、促进亚洲和平与发展”，我认为这是一个很有挑战性的主题，但我也认为这是打开目前混乱复杂且不稳定的局势的重要关键词。当今不仅是在亚洲，在世界各地都存在着贫困、教育、安全等各种各样的问题，人类社会面临着新的课题。亚洲青年肩负着未来发展的重任，要关注和发扬和平、发展、公平、正义、民主、自由这些全人类应当一同享有的共同价值，希望能为亚洲以及世界的和平与发展作出贡献。
人类面临着气候变化等严重的全球性问题，实际上对人类的生存和我们所生活的地区也产生了严重的影响。大家当然都希望能实现可持续发展，为此我们必须尽快采取行动阻止气候变化，在可能为时已晚的危机感中很多地方政府都启动了紧急事态应对计划。我希望青年能以最敏锐的洞察力、最迅速的行动力、最大胆的魄力来勇敢面对这一危机。
在今天的论坛上，大家将围绕科技创新、绿色发展、金融创新的主题做演讲，这正是为了克服气候变化所带来的危险而必须要讨论的重要主题。青年领袖们，目前世界正由单极向多极转变，中国国家主席也提出了人类命运共同体的主张。他认为在复杂的世界经济形势和国际问题面前，不应该只从单一国家立场出发，而应该从人类命运共同体这一新的角度，来探索全人类的共同利益和共同价值观，在这一点上我是赞同的。与基于融合思想的东亚共同体思想有相通之处，各国在国际问题上有不同的看法，这并不奇怪，但是以此为理由搞对立，唱独角戏是没有意义的。即便如此，我们也不能使交流停滞，正是在这一关键时期才有必要加强交流，因此青年们的交流和意见沟通变得尤为重要。对于全人类共同面对的问题我们不能只追求独自获益，而是需要建立共同获益的共赢关系。着眼于共性，培养共性，价值观不同的国家才能实现共同繁荣、共同发展。这需要亚洲青年的力量和勇气。在亚洲，自古提倡“以和为贵”的思想，但与此同时也注重求同存异的精神，重视和谐，同时也尊重差异，有一些国家经常和价值观相同的国家交好，但却和价值观不同的国家搞对立，如此一来世界纷争不断。
每个国家都有各自的特点和差异，现在的社会需要互相认可、互相尊重、互相理解、互相支持的友爱精神。在尊重本国的自由和尊严的同时我们也要尊重他国的自由和尊严。
我衷心希望亚洲的青年能够培养并推广这些精神，为世界和平与发展贡献力量。中国国家主席鼓励各国的青年访问中国，亲自体验并分享中国现代化发展和实践的经验。我也认为人们需要积累更丰富的经历才能不陷入自己的偏见之中，所以我非常赞同中国国家主席的想法，希望亚洲的青年领袖们互相交流，携手合作共同克服人类社会面临的问题。
我衷心希望通过亚洲青年领袖论坛，参加者们都能得到全面而丰富的体验，由此进一步加深对多样而有特色的亚洲文化的理解。另外，我也衷心期待各位参加者都能成为能力更强、心胸更宽广、效率更高的未来的领导者，希望您能为建立人类命运共同体作出贡献。我在此再次祝愿本次的论坛圆满成功。

Yukio Hatoyama says mutual beneficial and win-win relations are necessary in face of common issues humanity must address
Hi, everyone,
I'm Yukio Hatoyama. Thank you for inviting meto the Asia Youth Leaders Forum. I'd like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the opening of this year's Asia Youth Leaders Forum. I'd also like to thank the host, China Public Diplomacy Association, for its efforts to build a platform for youth leaders in Asian countries to exchange their ideas and opinions, which I believe is conducive to the peace and development of Asia and the world at large. The theme of this forum is “Enhance Youth Cooperation, Strengthen Common Values and Promote the Peace and Development of Asia”. I think this is a very challenging topic. However, I believe it's an important keyword for us to address the current chaotic, complex, and unstable situation. Nowadays, not only Asia but the world is plagued by a variety of problems such as poverty, education, and safety. Human society is faced with new tasks. Asian youth hold an important position for future development. To uphold and promote the universal values shared by all human beings, such as peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy, and freedom, young people in Asia are expected to contribute to the peace and development of Asia and the world.
Humanity is faced with serious global problems such as climate change, which actually has a serious impact on the survival of mankind and the region in which we live. Of course, everyone wants to achieve sustainable development. We must take urgent action to handle climate change. Feeling it might be too late to act, many local governments have activated emergency response plans. I hope that young people can face up to this crisis with the keenest insight, the fastest action, and the greatest courage. At the forum, speeches will be given on the theme of technological innovation, green development, and financial innovation, which is an important topic that must be discussed so as to overcome the negative effects of climate change.
Dear youth leaders, the world is changing from unipolar to multipolar. Chinese President Xi Jinping has put forward the idea of a community with a shared future for humanity. In the face of the complex world economic situation and international issues we should not consider things from the standpoint of one single country, but should explore the common interests and common values of all mankind from the new perspective of a community with a shared future. I agree with that idea. It has something in common with the idea of an East Asian community based on the idea of integration. It is not surprising that different countries have different views on international issues, but it is meaningless to use this as an excuse to play a monodrama of confrontation. Despite all this, we must not stop communicating. It is this critical period that makes the enhancement of communication necessary, and the exchange of ideas among young people particularly important. When it comes to the problems faced by all mankind, instead of pursuing individual benefits, we need to establish a win-win relationship for mutual benefits. We need to focus on and cultivate commonality, so that countries with different values can achieve common prosperity and common development. It requires the strength and courage of young people in Asia.
Since ancient times, people in Asia havebeen advocating the idea that peace is the most important thing, but at the same time, we have also been observing the spirit of seeking common ground while reserving differences. We value harmony while respecting differences. Some countries often have friendly relations ent with their own, but are at odds with countries with different values. Thus, there has been constant divisions in the world.Each country has its own characteristics and differences. Today's society calls for the loving spirit of mutual recognition, mutual respect, mutual understanding, and mutual support. While respecting the freedom and dignity of our own country, we should also respect the freedom and dignity of other countries. I sincerely hope that young people in Asia can cultivate and spread these spirits for the sake of world peace and development. President Xi Jinping encourages young people from various countries to visit China, so that they can personally experience and share the experience of China's modernization development and practice. We see the world in a way that confirms our biases unless we take the imitative to expose ourselves to more meaningful experiences. Therefore, I very much agree with President Xi Jinping's idea. I hope that youth leaders in Asia can communicate with each other and work together to overcome the problems facing human society. I sincerely hope that through the Asia Youth Leaders Forum, participants can have a comprehensive and rich experience so as to further their understanding of the diverse and distinctive Asian cultures. In addition, I sincerely hope all participants will become future leaders who are more capable, broad-minded, and efficient. I look forward to your contribution to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity. Finally but most importantly, I wish this forum a great success!
